one of my friends (i will refrain from saying her name for her own protection from internet stalkers) drew something she thought would look cool on a shirt. after i scanned it in, i inked and colored. i would like for this person, whose name i will not say, to comment on the coloring and all. maybe this wasn't what was on her mind. you other folk can just critique it as a shirt, camprendo?
also, i am designing a shirt for my school. you may remember last year's tee that i designed, well, this one has to do with flags too. my teacher and i kinda wanted to avoid the whole flag thing but nothing really came to our minds. its all right though, because the diversity really makes up some of our school's identity. here is what i came up with as a first draft.
on the back (or front) it will say something like "we are the Ambrakornadians" (i will have to double check my spelling) i think the shirt will look best just on normal white but now days people tend to avoid it. if any of you want to see this shirt (or the other one) in another color i will put one up. tell me what you think, critiques are welcome.
here is an alternative flag order - tell me which you like better.
some interesting advantages i just thought up about this design are: (a) brasilian stars are included (b) less white border (c) the more dynamic part of the maple leaf is showingGod bless.

Hurray Lee! The colors and inking are (ready for an amazing adjective???) superb. Ahah!
I was thinking the design could be in the bottom corner maybe? I duhnno, it just seems to flow better that way. But in order to draw the eye I think it would have to be a tad bigger then. =/
But really, I think that these are petty ramblings of a perfectionist and if YOU like it, you shouldn't change it at all.
What if we switched the Canadian and the Brasilian? That way we see a little more of the maple leaf I think.
candice - what eye?
bill - kk, i try it out. not sure how much more it will show though.
the second flag order is better i think. as Bill said, it shows more of the maple leaf. and like you said, Lee, it shows the stars on the Brazilian flag. and less white border is good too.
personally though, i liked the first CCA shirt a lot better. it was more artistic, and i really don't like white t-shirts. the new shirt looks like a white t-shirt with a logo stamped on it. maybe that's what you were going for, i dunno.
heyyy. so i can post. sweet. alright. well, im pretty much agreeing with diego all the way here. i think the second flag was better because of the stars and the leaf. second of all...i agree about the older shirt too. i personally just dont like white t-shirts...there's no way you can keep this new shirt just change the actual color of the shirt? but then...like diggy said...maybe that's what your going for. oh and i loved the "Ambrakornadians..."(sp) idea. very creative.
i can try a black tee, like i said in my blog, ask for a color and i'll put something up.
the Ambrakornadians idea wasn't mine...for that matter, neither was the design. give your thanks to the 7th and 8th grade class + uncle bill. oh, i added the "don't cut on the dotted line" thing. btw, what do you guys think about that?
Yeah I agree that the second flag order is better. Besides making the maple leaf look better and the stars on the Brazilian flag show, the blue circles of the Korean and Brazilian flags fit together better than in the first flag order. (I don't know if you could/would have changed that in the first flag order.) I agree that the old t-shirt design is more interesting because of the splooshiness. But the Ambrakornadians idea is awesome. I think the "don't cut" dotted line looks kind of out of place or something... but that's just what I think. Also, black would look better than white for the flag t-shirt in my opinion because it would have more contrast with white in the flags.
ambrakornadians is so funny! LOL
i can't make up my mind about the "don't cut on the dotted line" thing. on the one hand, like Fipi said, it does look out of place, but on the other hand, it's so clever! and it gets the point across. i'd say keep it. although, if you make the shirt a dark color make the dotted line white so it's plainly visible.
so many comments! lee, your famous!
yes, indeed, cool idea, and also, indeed, somthing with out flags would be cool... like, taking famous buildings from each of the countries, or a face collage.. however, i know you need to stick with more vector art style. Very cool.
I wish i had gotten into this stuff.
humm, good idea. representative buildings. (ie statue of liberty, the building in brasilia..) what are some famous buildings in korea...or canada?
